Proverbs 4:7-8
"Wisdom is supreme – so with all your ability get wisdom. And whatever else you get, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; if you embrace her she will honor you.”
Anytime when you see the word “all” in the scriptures you need to pay close attention to what is being said, “…all your ability …” not some of “your ability”, but “all” of “your ability”.
God is not an exaggerator or an embellisher of truth. In other words in every way possible that you can receive wisdom and better your life...do it. Do not let yourself become so rigid in your own thinking that you become unable to be taught and unable to change. Let us not find ourselves after many years still going around in the same circle, and in the same place that we have always been for the simple reason...we are not open for change. Albert Einstein was once quoted as saying... “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over …. expecting different results.” Wisdom helps us "Break Free" from the cycle of the past...to pursue a future with incredible power and precision!
Proverbs 4:26
“Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.”
In other words, take time to sit down and consider the direction of your life. I personally am constantly examining my own life and looking at it from different angles in order that God might enable me to gain a better understanding of the direction I need to turn. The good news is that He is limitless in his ability to shine new light into our lives...light and truth that maybe we had never seen before.
The book of James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and holds nothing back; and it will be given him. Notice how God gives. God gives liberally. He is not withholding information from anyone. If we lack wisdom, it is because we have not asked persistently enough for it yet. God desires that you be filled with wisdom. Why? Because God desires for you to move ahead in life, assist others to move forward in life as well, and avoid the pitfalls that many times present themselves. It keeps our spiritual axe sharp and smooth, so that when we need to cut our way through a forest of obstacles, we can do it efficiently and more quickly.
Finally know this! Truth is truth no matter where it comes from. An important area where wisdom can be gained, and our lives tremendously enhanced, is in our relationships. Find people who have had success and imitate their wisdom, character, and faith. However, the origin of all truth was born in only one place...the heart of God. Therefore, know truth...and without any doubt you will know what it is like to "Break Free" and understand the meaning of "True Freedom"!
