In 2015, I began to establish a new Foundation called Dream Mexico. The principal objective of this organization is to help restore the principles and values that help people begin to believe once again in the beautiful dream that once was Mexico! This country has such breath-taking landscapes, warm hospitable people, incredible architecture, ancient history, and a unique and rich culture.
However, for several decades now, this beautiful land has been overwhelmed with a flood of corruption, poverty, and violence. As a result, many of their people have lost hope and abandoned the values and principles which once maintained their peace and prosperity. Many of their most beautiful cities are now covered with a chaos of graffiti, and the grounds around many of their natural parks filled with garbage. it is like many have just given up hope that anything could ever change.
However, nothing could be further from the truth! Mexico still has the ability to be the country that its forefathers always dreamed it could be! But for this dream to become a reality, we have to help them restore the foundations upon which they are built. When we leave these principles of peace, even the very ground under our feet feels unstable, begins to tremble, we fall into chaos, and the result is the life that many in Mexico are living today.
Changing this dangerous trajectory is going to require a very broad effort by every single one of the millions of Mexican people that constitute this great country. I am convinced that lasting change is only going to come from the hand of one Mexican to the hand of another! In order to restore a sense of good will among society, ordinary citizens, as true volunteers, not hirelings, must begin to take more responsibility for the well-being of its society, and the beauty of its environment.
