Proverbs 10:1
“A wise son makes his father glad…”
This is so true! As we walk in the wisdom of God and have respect towards his truth, we begin to build for our lives and those around us… a foundation upon which a happy and peaceful life can be attained. I promise you that there is nothing else that God has in mind for us…that can be greater than our happiness.
The most wonderful thing that can happen to an individual is a real understanding concerning what this life is all about. There is nothing like knowing that through all success and failure, strength and weakness…God is in control of your life…that there is a bright light shining in your mind illuminating any darkness trying to cloud your understanding…and if there happens to be a time of confusion…it really isn’t that big a deal…because we know a God who is not confused or worried about anything concerning our lives…he is at the helm and is in complete control!
A relationship like this produces a peace that is immeasurable. There is a certain calm that comes into a person’s life when true wisdom enters their heart. After that, everything else becomes irrelevant and temporary…only mere instruments of the life with which we live. If life at whatever time may seem to spin out of control, so what! I have a Father that is the engineer and creator of this complex and volatile universe. There is not anything outside of his ability and control. Wisdom certainly produces gladness…and does it with abundance!
“…but an unwise son will bring sadness…”
Now let’s look at the other side of this coin. Humanity becomes unwise, when it goes its own way…living life outside of the truths and principles that God has set in place to govern all the aspects of life on this earth. This always brings about a result of sorrow. We never go our own way thinking that things are going to end badly for us…however they most often do. The wrong path has an appearance of good…but the results never end good.
The bible indicates to us that when Eve looked at the forbidden fruit, she thought, “How can this be bad. It looks so good!” And consequently…regardless of God’s warning…Eve took a bite of the fruit…and something interesting transpires after this. It says, “…her eyes were opened.” I believe that this is indicative of some sort of realization. There is one thing that is common to all of humanity no matter what era of history you may have lived in…how rich or poor…no matter what nationality you might be…or what creed you might confess…it is the power of our own conscience.
So listen up. I know we all make mistakes in our lives. Just don’t be unwise… languishing under the relentless burden of your mistakes. Be Wise. Be honest with God about your situation… and watch as the heavy dark clouds are blown away…and you step into a new world…one with clear beautiful blue skies…one full of God’s grace…one full of an overwhelming joy…joy that God’s presence is once again in your life…there to protect…to guide…to comfort…to bless…no matter what might come your way!
