The Master Key

Proverbs 8:9
“The words of wisdom are easy… for him that understands its meaning!”

Every door has its key…Every puzzle has its secret.  Once you understand, suddenly that which was locked away and completely hidden…now is open and makes perfect sense.  We wonder how we missed it.  It was there all along…right under our nose!  The knowledge of God does not make any sense to the man who does not possess the key to open its door!  Of course the key to the door is not the practice a vain religion with man...but rather a powerful relationship with a living God.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those that love him.  But God has revealed those things to us...”.

This world is filled with opportunistic people that are focused on a temporal and superficial deception.  Our society has become one addicted to "wanting it now".  They want to know...but they do not want to make the commitment to the time it takes to gain knowlege and success. Sadly, it just doesn't work that way! The unseen secret of spiritual understanding is receiving the right information from God’s Spirit to our spirit...and this information is only relinquished through love!  Love is an everlasting commitment.  It is a relationship that has a bond that can never be broken. When our relationship with God grows, so does our trust with him as well...and consequently the amount of information that he allows us to see.

We grow in our understanding through walking with God and trusting him with our lives.  Those who do not know the faithfulness of God cannot understand the blessing that comes as a result of that relationship.  They have never felt the amazing peace that comes when we give God control over all aspects of our lives.  When we bow our knees to the Lord Jesus and ask him to come into our hearts, this is what we are doing.  We are taking the responsibility of eternal security out of our hands...and placing it into the hands of a faithful Creator.  From that day forward we never have to doubt about what would happen to us, if we were in a car accident, if we had a heart attack, or if cancer took hold of our bodies.  At that point it is irrelevant for the believer in Christ.   Our eternity is sealed up in Him.  We know that to not be a part of this life is to be a part of another...one lived with the very Creator of all things in Heaven and Earth.  This life for the Christian is just a shadow.  We are here just for a moment in time.  Life is simply an opportunity to place our past, present, and future into his hands.

The depth of God’s knowledge is a door that is eternally deep, but not entirely closed.  God desires so much that we be filled to overflowing with the understanding and knowledge that makes life full.  He is like a teacher that is itching to move on to the next chapter, so that you might have a full picture of the subject.  I have not met many teachers that enjoy apathetic students.  They are looking for that student that is hungry for more.  God is the same.

1 Corinthians 2:14 says, “But God has revealed those things to us by his spirit.”

Why has he revealed them to us?  God has made the issues of life plain to us, because we love him, and we are committed to his purposes.  I have heard people say that God just hasn’t given them this or that gift.  Others say, that if God desires for them to see something, he’ll show it to them.  If we lack wisdom, probably, there is not a lack of God’s willingness, but a lack of our commitment to Him and His purpose to receive it.

May we live our lives before God...desperate for the key that will open that next door...behind which lies another unbelievably beautiful light of truth...and a life we never before dreamed of living!!
